印尼1965年的「930事件」中，安華・剛果（Anwar Congo）從小流氓變成軍隊領袖，一年內殺了超過百萬的共產主義者、華人、藝術家及知識份子。安華不僅沒被審判，今日更仍被視為「民族英雄」。他在片中以自已殺戮的故事拍成融合土匪片、西部片、音樂劇的電影，荒誕情節加上殘暴回憶，引領觀眾深入殺人兇手腦中的狂熱幻夢，眞假虛實間發人省思。
